A DREAM OF SHIVA
"Through Reiki, one becomes connected to the spiritual nature of the universe.
As we experience this subtle energy, we realize that we had this inherent energy inside us always."

This is the story of magical happenings re-connecting a lovely cat named Shiva to her people, after passing to the next life. Shiva's owner writes:
The night after Shiva transitioned, I was sleeping in the back bedroom where she and I slept together alone the last 3 or 4 nights of her precious little life. I awoke at 4 a.m. Or so, feeling a very strong pull at the back, scapula, where one might envision angel wings to be attached.
The force was very strong. I knew that I was being offered the change to leave my body and travel. I knew that I could possibly come back, but I also knew that there was a possibility that I would decide to stay. I sat up, still in the "dream state," and in my mind shouted: "No Shiva! You come to me!" I was frightened when I "came to" and went back to sleep with Joseph, wrote down the dream. It was near 5 a.m. Before I fell back asleep.
Come about 7:30, the alarm went off, Jos had to prepare the back yard for some landscaping that we had planned for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary coming in a couple weeks. (We are staying in their house until our place is ready; they arrive June 23) I heard from the other room, Jos calling my name. I was getting out of the shower and annoyed that he was yelling for me. Finally, I went out to the patio (which is private) totally naked to see what was so urgent. He told me that a Tabby cat had appeared on the hillside just a few feet from him. He waved it over, calling, "Shiva, Shiva," and the cat approached him gingerly. Then Zuki, black dog, came running and probably frightened the Tabby before I could see it. We had not seen a cat, let alone a Tabby, before this time, and have not seen a cat in this dog-laden neighborhood since.
Our dear friend Jann Wolcott arrive a few days after Shiva's passing with her husband. She is a close friend of my parents, and have seen several cats die of kidney failure. She read me (than gave me the book) a treasured "children's" book called: OLD COYOTEE. And she believes that Shiva borrowed the Tabby's body to show herself, at least to Jos, and further indicate that indeed she will come to me as I had requested. She is not "dead" but is manifesting all around, and was kind enough to go out of her way to show me that I need not suffer so over the loss of her body. Yesterday a huge bird, the likes of which I have NEVER seen in any yard where I have live, flew down and landed just feet away from Shiva's "grave" sight. It rested on a wall overlooking her "grave" just outside my parent's bedroom window where he and are staying. It was in the morning sometime, and we happen to both be there with the curtain open. We looked in a birds of America book, and think it may have been some kind of a falcon.
You are a gift, Linda, and I bless you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were the one who told me that Shiva told you she would be returning as a Tabby; you told me to keep my eye out for a Tabby. Though this was not the Tabby that will be a part of our family, it was a sure sign that her loving soul is still with me, and someday indeed we will be together in body, not just in spirit as we are today.
Please feel free to edit an use any part of this letter in any way that you see fit. You were a miracle in my life at a time when I thought my Shiva world was dying forever. You have taught me so much.
All love and blessings,
Dina McQueen

Here is Linda's side of the Shiva story.
"This is the beautiful long-haired, black and white kitty Shiva. Her 'Dad" is the artist that painted the St. Francis in my treatment room. She had been diagnosed with kidney disease a year prior to my seeing her for the first time.
"I did a reading, Reiki and attuned Shiva to the Reiki energy. They had just discontinued rehydration injections that were given weekly to 10 day periods apart for a year. Usually Shiva went downhill within 10 days, lying listless and not eating. She had numerous other health crisis during that year.
"In the week after our visit, Shiva went into a second kittenhood - when in reality, flowers were being sent in the event of her upcoming demise. This was in March. I saw her again for a visit in May, a Reiki session and some small talk.
"Shiva lived well until the last day of May, when she had deteriorated and was euthanized. She had lived long enough to move back 'home' to New Mexico after a year in Arcata. Long enough for her human family to move back into a familiar home and life. Shiva was an amazingly spiritual feline - doing her own yoga poses with her 'Mom' in their private yoga studio, drinking from her personal fountain.
When I last saw Shiva, she had a beautiful alter built around her as she nestled in her bean bag throne. St. Francis in back of her, crystals laid around her with her favorite toys. Getting strong for the long drive to Santa Fe. Her caretakers are like her, beautiful and spiritually aligned.
"These are the times that make my work so wonderful and amazing."
Blessings,
